摘要随着社会与科学技术的迅速发展，国际学术交流日益广泛，我国和其他国家之间的科学技术交流也日益频繁，因此科技英语的翻译也越来越显得尤为重要。尽管科技英语和其他的英语外表上看一样,都是由语音,词汇和语法构成。但随着其应用范围扩大,科技领域的进一步规范,科技英语越来越表现出其独特性,已成为一门独立的文体,并逐步奠定科技英语作为一门学科的基础。但是传统的科技英语翻译过分忠实原文，力求保留原文的面貌，而忽视了科技英语翻译的准确性原则，尤其是在中文科技文献的汉译英中，容易曲解原文的意思，使原文不能准确表达。鉴于科技文献翻译的准确性，本论文将研究功能对等理论在科技文献翻译中的指导作用，以提高科技文献英译的翻译质量，进而指导科技文献工作。66399

Title On Translation of Chinese Scientific text into English from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence
Abstract The article tries to guide the translation of EST (English for science and technology) from Chinese to English from the perspective of Nida’s functional equivalence theory, which stresses the real function of translation and the response of the readers and realizes the functional equivalence between the original test and object translation. On the base of fully respecting the original text, the translation strategies of functional equivalence theory can make the Chinese science and technology literature be expressed precisely. The research objective is to testify the practical applicability of functional equivalence theory in EST translation from Chinese to English from the perspective of the readers，and use the various strategies to solve the existing problems of EST translation from Chinese to English.

1 Introduction
1.1 Research Background
With the fast development of society and science and technology, the international communication is more and more frequent as well as the science and technology communication among our nation and other nations, so the EST (English for Science and Technology) translation is more and more important. EST mainly consists of science and technology reports, science and technology articles, test reports, science and technology literature and projects. Although the appearance of EST is the same as other English which consists of voice, vocabulary and grammar, EST gradually express its specialty with the expanse of application range and the normalization of EST. It has become a separate type of writing and the base of the subject.
