Abstract English abstract plays an important role in academic exchange and cooperation. In recent years, researches of English abstract have been conducted from different perspectives by many scholars. However, the issue has seldom been approached from functionalism orientation. This paper, under the guidance of the framework of functionalism especially skopos theory and text typology, researches on the English abstract of graduation thesis in combination with some examples. The study found that the English abstracts in graduation thesis are subject to the following problems: information missing, terms misuse, improper collocation of words, misuse of person and tenses, sentences with no subject and so on. These problems are mainly due to many students lack of professional knowledge as well as unawareness of translation theory. In view of these questions, this paper then discusses some corresponding translation principles in order to improve the quality of the thesis abstract translation.69713

摘要英文摘要在学术交流与合作中起着重要作用。近年来，许多学者从不同视角对论文摘要的英译进行了研究。然而，以功能翻译理论为基础对英文摘要的问题做研究的并不多。本文以功能zhuyi，特别是目的论和文本类型理论为框架，对毕业论文摘要的英译进行实例分析。研究发现，英文摘要主要存在以下的问题：信息缺失、术语误用、词语搭配不当、人称及时态误用、无主句等。这些问题主要由于学生知识储备不足并缺乏一定的翻译理论知识。针对这些问题，本文进而探讨出一些相应的翻译原则，以期提高论文摘要翻译质量。

1. Introduction
This article mainly studies on the abstracts translation of graduation papers. Recently, many scholars around the world have done a lot of researches on abstracts translation. However, there is a lack of systematic theoretical guidance and a few researches on abstracts translation principles. In terms of undergraduate graduation papers, there are many problems in the process of abstracts translation due to many students lack of a certain knowledge of translation theories. So, in this paper, the author aims at finding out the problems and errors at different levels of the translated English abstracts in graduation papers and summarizing some translation principles of abstracts based on the functionalist translation theory especially the text typology and the skopos theory. 论文网
This thesis can be pided into three parts. The definition, characteristics and functions of abstract and the previous studies of academic abstracts translation. Then, the introduction of two approaches of functionalism: the text typology and the skopos theory. At last, abundant examples are cited to illustrate the problems and errors of English abstracts in graduation papers and some principles in abstracts translation are proposed.
