Building Vocabulary in/for Reading Abstract There are mainly two ways of building vocabulary in reading classes. One is teaching vocabulary explaining the words without referring to the passages; the other is teaching vocabulary while reading passages. This research aimed to find the difference that different ways of building vocabulary makes in reading classes for students’ vocabulary learning and reading. 46742
Two paralleled classes were chosen from a school, while there were three schools, six classes in total were tested in the research. Based on 864 questionnaires from the participants, the thesis find out there are different effects of the two ways on the vocabulary learning and on reading for students in different levels.

阅读课中词汇教学浅析
摘 要阅读课中必然涉及到词汇教学,而如何处理新词成了阅读课的一大重点。在阅读前集中处理,或是在阅读过程中逐渐渗透,两种方式不仅对词汇的学习产生不同的影响,而且对学生学习文章的阅读也产生不同的影响。在阅读课中不同的词汇教学方式各有利弊,并且对不同学习能力的学生有不同的教学效果。笔者从保俶塔实验中学,杭州第十五中学和杭州第十三中三所学校中各自抽取两个成绩类似的平行班,在分别采取阅读前集中处理词汇与阅读过程中逐渐渗透两种词汇教学方式,进行对比调查,将三所学校进行横向对比,取出每种词汇教学方式所在班级的平均数据,从864份调查问卷中发现了这两种方法对不同成绩段学生的影响。
