2.3 The Selection of the Forms of Board Writing
When designing the board writing, the selection of the forms of board writing is very important (Wang Songquan, 1995). Teachers can select the forms according to several factors. First, teachers should consider the content of teaching material. Every form should serve for content, and if separated from the content of teaching material, the forms of board writing lose their value of existing. Thus, we must study and analyze the teaching material carefully when preparing for the class. Second, teachers should consider the teaching objectives. Board writing, as a teaching method, should serve for teaching objectives. So when we design the board writing, we must choose the form which can embody teaching objectives most and fulfill teaching tasks. Third, teachers should consider the characteristics of different lesson types. For instance, when having listening and speaking class, the main sentence pattern is written down on the middle of the blackboard. While having reading class, the structure of the reading material is written down on the middle of the blackboard. Last, students’ practical condition should be taken into consideration. Students of different classes vary a lot. And the knowledge level and psychological characteristics of students in the same class differ from each other.
